Biography

You already know the voice...
It belongs to the warm, soulful tenor, BeBe Winans. A groundbreaking inspirational, R&B, and Gospel vocalist, writer, and producer, BeBe has won four Grammy Awards, ten Dove Awards, six Stellar Awards, two NAACP Awards and a Soul Train Award. A multi faceted artist, BeBe not only has a successful recording career, but also recently launched a syndicated radio show and returned to acting in both film and theater.
As a member of gospel music royalty, BeBe’s success is truly a family tradition.  The seventh of 10 children, BeBe began his career as a background singer for his famous brothers (The Winans) before teaming with sister CeCe Winans in 1987 for an amazing run of smash hits and platinum-selling albums.  BeBe has also recorded songs with such entertainers as Stevie Wonder, Brain McKnight and Whitney Houston.
BeBe and CeCe had success with such hits as, "Heaven", "I'm Lost Without You", and the number one hits "Addictive Love" and "I'll Take You There." BeBe’s stop-in-your tracks voice shines on his songs "In Harms Way," "Jesus, Children of America" and, "Coming Back Home" with Brian McKnight and Joe.
His ear for writing and interpreting real-life experiences through inspirational music (spiritual soul food, if you will), remains unerring. BeBe now returns with his fourth solo album, Dream. BeBe’s TMG label (The Movement Group) and Hidden Beach Recordings new inspirational imprint division, Still Waters, is releasing this album. The partnership between the two labels was announced last year.
“This is a new beginning for me, " declares the singer/ songwriter /producer. "The feel is different. It has to do with the excitement I have about this album being mine: my label, my creation. That makes this different than any album I've ever done. I'm coming from a good place now. It's something that takes years to get to... through age, understanding, and experience. I'm comfortable with who I am and where I want to go. My vision for this album was to select songs that will find and touch people where they are."
In addition to BeBe’s new album, this Fall he will launch the BeBe Winans Radio Show with syndicator, SupeRadio Networks. BlueSky Productions, the award winning production team that produces the Dave Koz Radio Show, will produce this 2 -hour weekly program in partnership with BeBe's Grammy Award winning production team. The show will feature Urban and Gospel music and will  include the biggest hits of the format, exclusive interviews, and superstar "surprise" guests each week.  BeBe will also host a weekday feature entitled "A Moment of Inspiration" featuring inspiring quotes from famous musicians, actors, and politicians. The BeBe Winans Radio Show will launch the weekend of August 14 th 2004 in every single top 10 radio market which is syndication first for any type of radio program secular or Gospel.
BeBe recently returned to acting, making his feature film debut in Jonathan Demme’s, The Manchurian Candidate. BeBe will also star this September in the off-Broadway touring musical production of King Solomon Lives, A Nubian Love Story. The play, written and Directed by Danny Hodges (The Diary of a Black Man), will tour the country throughout September in a limited run and will return in the Spring of 2005. BeBe will star in the musical as King Solomon opposite Tichina Arnold and Garrett Morris. BeBe is no stranger to theater. He previously starred on Broadway in the shows Civil War and Don’t Get God Started and the National Tour of What’s On the Hearts of Men .
