  • Questions About Praise Hymn

Are Praise Hymn tracks sung by the original artist?
No. Praise Hymn Soundtracks are rerecorded by our producer and team of musicians and singers. We do not use the original artist's tracks. Each song is rerecorded in three different keys to give each singer an option to sing in a high, medium, or low range - with or without background vocals.

Most of my Praise Hymn tracks sound just like the original. However, I have a track that is slightly different from the original. Why the changes?
Our producer strives to record each song to sound just like the original. Exceptions are made in order to make the track easier to use by you, the singer. Long intros or instrumentals are taken out as well as fade outs. Our desire is to make each track as "singer-friendly" as possible.

Praise Hymn does not carry a certain title I am looking for. Can you custom record a track for me?
Unfortunately, no. Praise Hymn does not custom record soundtracks. If you have a song you are searching for but do not find it in our catalog, please contact us with the title and we will be sure to consider it for a future release. There are so many wonderful Christian songs it is impossible for us to record them all, but we will gladly consider all suggestions. Please click here to send your song suggestion to us.

Why doesn't Praise Hymn include the music along with the lyrics in the inserts?
Praise Hymn only has permission from the copyright owners to print the lyrics on the print of the cassettes and CDs. We do not have permission to print the music. If you need the printed music, we suggest that you contact your local Christian bookstore to find out if sheet music is available for the song you are interested in.

How can I become a Praise Hymn singer and record the demonstration vocals for your tracks?
Our producer has a group of singers to record our tracks. If you would like to be considered to sing for our track line, you MUST live in the Nashville, Tennessee area. You can contact us to get the mailing address to send the demo. Due to the large volume of demos we receive, if you are not from the Nashville area we cannot listen to your demo. Also, please keep in mind that demos are not returned to you.

  • Questions About Recording

    What is leasing?
Leasing is the process that is used to pay a company for the work they have created and/or own. When it comes to soundtracks, there are two parties (writer and arranger) involved. In this case, Praise Hymn Soundtracks has created the arrangement to songs that songwriters have written. Anyone who would like to record a song is required by law to obtain permission and/or pay lease / royalties to each perspective party. LEASING IS NOT REQUIRED IN RECORDING PACKAGES BECAUSE THE USE OF OUR SOUNDTRACKS ARE INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE PRICE. To request a lease agreement click here. Download Lease Agreement.

How much does a lease cost?
$140 unless you need a CD sent to you. If a CD is needed it is an additional $10 which brings the total to $150. You may pay by Credit Card, Check, Money Order or Cashiers Check. To request a lease agreement click here.

How long does it take to process my lease request?

Generally speaking, two days. One day is spent at the studio recording your project. One day is spent meeting with the graphic designer fine-tuning and insuring that your creative ideas for your album artwork have been captured.
