So what is it like to record your own album? People are often surprised to find out how much work goes into something like recording. It takes hours and hours to record vocals and complete mixing. Mixing is a term that is used in the music industry that means to create the overall musical sound of the project. Mixing is the process by which all of the music elements come together. During this time we can add reverb and other special features to showcase artistic talent. A typical day starts at around 8:00 a.m. and the first hour or so is spent "dumping" the tracks into the studio system. After everything is ready, you will begin your project. Recording will take place all day with the exception of rest/food breaks. Any break time does not count against your allotted hours of recording time. The following day will be spent working on the graphic artwork for your project. We request that you send out any graphic elements (pictures, credits etc.) ahead of time. This allows the graphic designer to create your album cover(s) in advance to be available for you to approve upon your arrival. From the time you come to record to the time you receive the product is generally 3-5 weeks. In some cases the product is received earlier or later depending on the manufacturer's workload. All product is shipped UPS ground and delivered anywhere in the continental U.S. We are generally "booked up" about two months in advance. A 50% deposit is required in order to secure a studio date.
